NEWS RELEASE

Weight Restrictions will be enforced on all Isabella County blacktop & gravel roads beginning Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 8:00am

Maximum loadings permitted in accordance with Michigan laws are as follows:

11,700 pounds per single axle vehicles

20,800 pounds on tandem axle vehicles w. 1 tandem assembly (2 axles)

16,900 pounds maximum for all other tandem assemblies

This maximum allowed loading reduces the normal loading 35% during the spring while the frost is going out of the roadbed.

Allowable speed limit for trucks on county roads during this period is reduced to 35 mph.

These restrictions will be lifted after all of the frost is gone and the roadbeds have dried out sufficiently.

After working hours call Central Dispatch to report a road emergency

To place a service request for a road, please give us a call (989) 773-7131 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Mission Statement

To provide the safest roads and the best service possible for our residents, neighbors, friends and families.

Adopt-A-Road Program

The Isabella County Road Commission offers this program for individuals or groups looking to do volunteer work in our community. You and your group decide on a mile of road you would like to clean up. The Road Commission supplies the garbage bags and we pick up the full bags when you are done. We also put up a sign to recognize you or your group for your volunteer work. Please call our office for more information (989) 773-7131.
